We’re thrilled to share the latest updates and developments from the past month. Our team has been hard at work implementing new features, improving existing ones, and planning for the future. Here’s an in-depth look at the progress made and the exciting developments on the horizon.

2024 Roadmap: shaping the future

After extensive discussions with our team and deep engagement with our community, we’re thrilled to have released our new 2024 roadmap. This comprehensive plan not only positions DeRace as a leader in the sports category but also as a pioneer in the GameFi universe.

Our roadmap is ambitious, aiming to go fully multi-chain, player-driven features, athlete-positive environments, and easy accessibility, reflecting our dedication to forging the future of gaming.

The roadmap shows our commitment to making DeRace accessible and applicable to real life, with a focus on developing intuitive user interfaces and game mechanics that welcome new players. This direction is guided by invaluable input from our community, ensuring that the roadmap prioritizes features and improvements that matter most to our players.

Tournaments: elevating the competitive spirit

This month, the DeRace ecosystem has taken a giant leap forward with significant enhancements to our tournament functionalities. We’ve been hard at work crafting a more flexible and robust tournament framework in order to accommodate a wider range of competitions.

By introducing new options for tournament creation, including varied track lengths and more horse performance ranking opportunities, such as ‘Combined Stage Average Best Time’ and ‘Combined Stage Average Worst Time’, we’re opening the doors to a richer competitive experience.

We’re also excited about the auto-generated tournaments. With tournaments set to generate automatically, players will constantly find fresh challenges awaiting, keeping the competition lively and engaging.

New Tournament type already in test-net

Feedback has been a crucial part of this process. We’ve listened to you, our players, and we’ve tailored these updates to enhance your gaming experience. We believe these changes will make tournaments more enjoyable and accessible once these new additions are live on our platform.

“Donkey Races”: flipping the script on competition

The highlight of the month was creation and release of the “Donkey races”. This new race type rewards the 3 slowest or worst-performing horses. This innovative approach inverts the traditional racing reward structure and introduces an entirely new strategic layer to DeRace.

With the release of ‘worst-time’ races, we’re broadening the gameplay experience for our players and making the competition even more fun so that all horses, no matter their performance, can carve out an exciting and rewarding place in the DeRace ecosystem.

Teams/Clubs: adding a sense of community

The Teams/Clubs feature has seen remarkable development over the past month. Starting with the creation of a dedicated team settings page, accessible only by the team owner, we’ve provided team owners with greater control over their club’s management. This includes functionalities such as adjusting the entry fee for the club, offering owners the flexibility to manage their team’s membership criteria effectively.

Following the rollout of the rudimental Teams/Clubs feature on our test-net, our focus shifted towards refining the UX and UI of this feature. The addition of the Hall of Fame section in the Team Stables tab is meant to be a space where teams can showcase their victories, enhancing the sense of community and shared success.

A sneak peak into ‘Team settings’ page

In the near future, we plan to further expand and refine the Teams/Clubs feature. We’re actively engaging with current team owners to get a better understanding of the community’s needs, which will guide our efforts in making this feature even more interactive and beneficial for our players.

Platform improvements: enhancing user experience

Our commitment to providing an unparalleled gaming experience is reflected in the continuous improvements made to the DeRace platform. This month, our team undertook a comprehensive database optimization to boost performance and responsiveness.

Additionally, we addressed various minor technical issues, including the correction of the horse thigh mark display in the 3D viewer and bug fixes related to horse rentals.

These improvements, though minor, significantly contribute to a smoother, faster, and more reliable gaming experience for our users.
