This week was all about the races!
Finalizing the hippodrome with turf surface, upgrading the race smart contract, starting to work on the racecourse management systems and creating a Spin-The-Wheel mini game to bring a dash of fun while waiting for the races to start.

🏁 Finalising our 3rd hippodrome
Where are my horsies, who like the turf surface, at?
Each day we are getting closer and closer to the launch of our third hippodrome. The design is finalized for the most part, we will only adjust some minor details to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
At the same time Kristijonas is already working on a race algorithm, so that your horsies could race on the turf surface too.
Just imagine racing surrounded by these skyscrapers… This is definitely an out-of-this-world experience! 🤩

This week we worked on creating a Spin-The-Wheel mini game which you will be able to enjoy while waiting for the races to start. The technical part is mostly done and we will start the testing phase in the upcoming week!😉

🚀 Taking our race contract to the next level
As part of ecosystem expansion this February, we will be increasing race functionality to make racing in the DeRace metaverse more exciting and rewarding.
We are currently improving our racing contracts to allow for additional race features! Prepare your NFT horses for races with entry requirements.
This new feature will make a way for new opportunities on the race track:
- High stake races for top tier horses
- Races limited to Gen0 NFT horses with amazing rewards
- Tournaments and other big racing events
- Invite only races
… and so much more! 🤯

Hippodrome management optimisation: a sneak peek 👀
Wen community owned/DJC hippodromes? ➡️ The answer is still: This June!
However, we have already started to work on bringing them to life! This week we have created the UI for the hippodrome managers to make running the racecourse easy and enjoyable.
You can generate the races with different requirements like distance, minimum tier allowed to participate, entry fee, just to mention a few, and even choose the number of winners and the purse distribution as well as the hippodrome fee!
The hippodrome managers can create tournaments with ease, place billboards and access all the relevant statistics.
