Howdy DeRacers! This week the DeRace team has reached a few important project milestones and we’re very excited to share them with you.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at what our team has been working on throughout this week.
Introducing the DeRace Youtube Channel
People don’t like reading, it’s a fact. So we decided to spice up our Development Updates a little!
We just launched our brand new Youtube Channel! Please welcome DeRace News Report with DeRace’s one-and-only Jeff which will take place every Sunday!
On the channel we will have development and team updates, community highlights, latest news and many more! First video came out today:
From now on, Jeff will take over and lead the DeRace YouTube channel to share all the latest news with you!
Horse racing contract is being tested!
Great news, DeRacers! Racing smart contract for the beta game is finally completed and is being tested.
Racing smart contracts define the race registration logic and payouts for winners. This is how it works:
- Each race will be published on the website before it happens
- You will have to register your horse promptly to participate, as the places in each race will be limited
- After the registration deadline, the entry fee of all the participants will be pooled and it’s time to watch the races happen in real time!
- At the end of the race, the winners are announced and the prizes are automatically allocated to the winners’ wallets

Updates on in-game graphics
The creation of the visual part of the game is going smoothly as planned.
Up to 12 horses can now race in the DeRace hippodrome! Like in real life, they run at different speeds: they speed up or slow down at random intervals which makes horse races in the DeRace metaverse very realistic.
Our horses also run in an oval-shaped race track, as they would in actual hippodromes!
We promised a sneak peek — here it is!
Take a look at one of the in-game assets — the starting stalls! As the name suggests, the starting stalls are used at the beginning of the races to ensure a fair start of the races.
This exact starting stall of the DeRace metaverse is programmed to hold up to 12 horses and release them at the start of the races.
The starting stalls will look differently in each hippodrome depending on it’s architecture and style!
The plans for upcoming week
In the upcoming week our team will focus on making the 3D environment of the hippodrome even more elaborate and authentic, in order to create the atmosphere similar to the one in real life horse racing events.
