One more busy week has passed by. So without further ado, let’s go over what the DeRace team has accomplished so far!

🔧 Database Performance Enhancement

Our back-end developer Kristis has been focused on furthermore optimizing the DeRace database, a crucial step towards enhancing the overall performance of our platform.

This optimization work is pivotal as it directly impacts the efficiency and speed of the game, ensuring that player interactions are smoother and more responsive. By improving database functionality, we’re not only enhancing the current user experience but also laying a solid foundation for future features and expansions.

Database optimization involves meticulous work on data structure, query optimization, and server performance. Kristis’s expertise in these areas is important in reducing load times and improving the stability of our platform.

👥 Teams/clubs

This week our talented developers embarked on creating the club creation form, focusing on both the user interface design and the necessary backend database structures.

This development is pivotal in streamlining how clubs are created and managed within the DeRace ecosystem. The club form, which includes both the physical interface and the backend database components, is being designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, making the process of creating a new club straightforward and accessible.

As we continue to develop the Teams/Clubs feature, the goal is to provide players with the tools they need to build and manage their clubs effectively. Our mission is to create a more immersive and engaging environment for our players, where forming teams and clubs is a natural and enjoyable part of the gaming experience.

🏆 Tournaments

This week has been particularly significant for the development of the Tournaments feature, as we’ve successfully completed the community testing phase.

This testing phase has provided us with critical feedback from players who interacted with the Tournaments feature. This feedback has given us an insightful perspective on both the strengths of the feature and areas that require further enhancement. We now have the necessary information to address any issues and make improvements in the coming weeks.

This is a major milestone for us, as it marks the transition of the Tournaments feature from a concept into a more polished and player-ready form. This feedback will be crucial in refining the user interface and overall functionality of the Tournaments, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all players.

🏇 Race Intro

Our game designers have been on a mission this week to find the best camera angles for the horse and jockey close-ups within the Race Intro.

This week, we’ve been experimenting with a range of angles and compositions to determine the most effective way to present each horse and jockey. These close-ups are a vital component of the storytelling aspect of the Race Intro, adding depth and context to the unfolding race.

The close-ups are crafted to showcase the unique characteristics and finer details of the horses and their jockeys, bringing the excitement of the race to life right from the beginning!
