Horse Breeding
Another profit making activity in the DeRace metaverse is horse breeding. The player selects two horses, one male and one female, both having a breeding cool-down at 0 to breed a new horse.
Features such as looks, breed, and track performance make each DeRace NFT horse a unique creature. All physical characteristics are visible for users, while the inherent features that determine a horse’s performance — speed and stamina — are hidden but can be speculated. By combining genes from parent horses using genetic algorithm, the newly bred NFT horse inherits the parents’ characteristics with +/- 5% deviation (RNG factor is applied).
DeRace NFT horses can be traded in the in-game marketplace, other NFT marketplaces as well as any CEX, DEX or AMM. The owner has complete control of their NFT horses.
Becoming a bookmaker
Hippodromes are where horse races take place. They vary among each other by different surfaces, length and even building style! Each hippodrome contains 10,000 NFT tokens, and the player can own a part of the whole hippodrome.
If a player owns more than 5000 (more than 50%) tokens, he is granted the right to administrate hippodrome races, thus becoming a bookmaker.
Bookmakers decide how and when to organize races in their hippodrome. The races can be public, where anyone can participate, or with certain requirements that participants have to meet. Bookmakers also determine the amount of entrance fee that participant horses have to pay in order to join the race and the prize pool.
Race hosts can also advertise their races on different platforms, including in-game advertisements or outside social mediums, such as Telegram. The profit that bookmakers make comes from collecting participation fees as well as from other channels.
